  • A Baby Has 10,000 Taste Buds: Babies have three times more taste buds as adults, 10,000 to be precise. The taste bud of the babies shows up on the third trimester, not just on the tongue, but also on the back, roof and sides of the mouth. That is why it is suggested for pregnant mothers to try out different types of foods on the third trimester.
  • Babies lose the hair they are born with; When their original hair falls out, a whole new head of hair grows in its place.
  • Newborns are tear-free; They cry but they don’t produce real tears until approximately the age of three weeks.
  • Research shows that a newborn respond positively to the fragrance of its mother’s breasts and ignores breast pads used by other women.
  • An average baby uses approximately 2,700 diapers a year.
  • A baby can breathe and swallow at the same time until they are seven months old.
  • Babies are born with 300 bones.
  • Newborns don’t have kneecaps.
  • Babies will sleep, on average, 5400 hours in the first year.
